The Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts is a centre for learning about the performing arts located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We have provided high quality instruction for instrumental music, voice, dance and theatre students since our inception in 1887. Our mission is:
To provide an accessible and comprehensive performing arts program for students of all ages and levels of ability, inspiring a life-long interest in the arts. We support students whose goal is personal enjoyment, as well as those who aspire to a professional career in performance.
The Conservatory is proud of our faculty of over 70 qualified teachers in our School of Dance, School of Music (instrumental and voice), Theory, and Kindermusik Departments.
Formerly the Maritime Conservatory of Music, the Conservatory changed its name in 1998 to reflect the scope of its programs: instrumental music and theory, voice, Kindermusik, groups and ensembles and the premier dance school on the east coast (ballet, jazz, character, teacher training). |
