| A number of competitive and non-competitive scholarships and prizes are made available each year for promising students: |

To encourage and acknowledge student participation in the many offerings of the Conservatory’s School of Music, a point system has been established to record participation in 14 or more categories, including their primary lessons. A cash award sponsored by the Halifax Ladies Musical Club is given to the student with the highest score; amount varies. |

The date for age eligibility is April 1st. Non-competitive scholarships and prizes awarded on basis of merit, determined from examination results as well as participation in MCPA activities such as recitals and ensemble programs. Unless noted, scholarships, prizes and awards over $50.00 are open to returning MCPA students. All students receiving scholarships, prizes and awards are to attend the Convocation Ceremony. Failure to appear could risk forfeiture of the award. The Maritime Conservatory reserves the right to withdraw an award from a student whose work is unsatisfactory.

bursaries |
Bursaries are open to students of the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts to be applied to 2nd term tuition fees at the MCPA. Bursaries are granted based on need and progress.
